Welcome to the 2020 Mower County FFA Virtual Fair. Although different, the hope that this experience offers engagement to our FFA members as well as exposure of this great organization to the public. As you will see, the opportunities vary so that all members can participate and accomplish the FFA mission of raising awareness of the importance of agriculture through building premier leadership, personal growth, and career success.

PUBLIC NOTICE TO ALL CONCERNED  

1. While the greatest possible care will be executed by the management to protect patrons of the Mower County Fair, each individual will be held personally responsible for his or her actions, and the management will not be accountable or responsible for any injury.  

 

2. The Mower County Agricultural Association management assumes no liability for loss or damage to any property of the concessionaire, exhibitor or patron, due to theft, fire, tornado, weather conditions, or other causes. 

 

 

GENERAL RULES FOR ALL EXHIBITORS  

  1. Entries are limited to FFA members with their advisors in the following FFA Chapters: Austin, Blooming Prairie, Grand Meadow, Hayfield, Kingsland, Lyle, Stewartville, Leroy-Ostrander, Southland 

  1. Deadline for entries is August 7th. Entries must be submitted to the Google Drive file described below as well as turned in to the local FFA advisor. 

  1. All articles exhibited must be the property of the exhibitor and except in designated classes, must be made, manufactured, or raised by the exhibitor.  

  1. The decision of the judges shall be final in all cases except where mistakes, fraud, or misrepresentation not discovered at the time of the award is made, is apparent. In such cases, the Board of Directors’ decision is final. 

  1. No more than one entry can be made in the same lot by an exhibitor. 

  1. FFA members will be eligible to exhibit if they meet the requirements of being an FFA member in good standing with their local chapter. Incoming 7th graders are eligible to exhibit at the county fair. Graduates from high school may exhibit four (4) county fairs following the student’s graduation from high school. 

 

Consent 

The FFA chapters and the Mower County Fair have my permission to use my photograph, video and audio recordings, likeness, artwork, profile, and/or story in this and future publications, web pages, and other promotional materials produced, used by and representing these organizations. I understand the circulation of the materials could be state/nationwide and that there will be no compensation to me for this use.

Submission of Entries 

  1. Using the Google Drive folder linked here, exhibitors can turn in their submissions. The exhibits can be dropped in using a variety of media formats but must be readily available to be accessed by the general public. Using Google Drive allows students to share recorded videos or links to online videos posted using sites like YouTube directly and allows for pictures, word documents and other submissions to be done just as easily. It is important that when sharing videos, links, or documents, that they are viewable by the public. Make sure that all sharing permissions are set correctly. If the submission can not be opened, it will not be judged.  

  1. Please label your entries using this guide: Division, Class, Lot, Name, Chapter 

  1. Email all submissions to the link provided or your advisor if need be.  

  1. All entries must be submitted by Friday August 7th at 5:00 pm. Any entries after that will not be accepted. Judging and posted results will be done throughout the week.  

  1. A rubric will be used to assist in determining placings. This rubric is a guide for the judging process and will not be available for participants to view.
