The Southland FFA Milk Quality team Competes

 

On December 6th the Southland /milk quality team that consisted of Kyianna Meyer, Ella Thome and Hattie Wiste competed at Riverland.  Students had to have knowledge of milk mastitis testing, Cheese identification, Milk marketing, fat content and general milk industry knowledge. The team placed 7th which will allow them to move onto further competition this spring. The contest was held in junction with the region 8 FFA poultry contest. Students were able to tour the agriscience department at Riverland and also investigate other areas such as nursing and the carpentry areas.
