Sanford Health Network is an integrated health system headquartered in the Dakotas. It is offering a scholarship challenge to high school students interested in rural health care.

-A six day all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C.
-Visit with congressional representatives, tour museums

Gary W. Stroup Memorial Scholarship
1 - $750
Eligible Applicants: High school seniors graduating from Southland High School of School District 500 in Adams, MN with a minimum GPA of 2.75 and who plans to attend a four year U.S. college or university or a two year U.S. college or trade school.

State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship
Up to 50 - $2,500 scholarships will be awarded
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Be a 2017 graduating high school senior.
  • High school seniors must have a cumulative GPA between a 2.5 and 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Plan to enroll full-time for the 2017-18 academic year at an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university or vocational-technical school.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Therese Halbach Education Memorial
1 - $1,000 scholarship available to a graduating Southland High School senior. 
Criteria for this scholarship are based on a combination of academic achievement, community involvement and service, and work experience.  All seniors who plan to attend a post-secondary program are eligible to apply.

Undetermined number of scholarships in the amount of $500 each will be awarded
Graduating seniors pursuing higher education in agricultural or home economics related field are encouraged to apply.

Minnesota Women's Golf Association
$3,000 renewable for four years
Eligible applicants include high school senior girls residing in MN and planning to enroll in a four year college. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.2 or above and must sbumit a copy of a completed FAFSA form. This scholarship is awarded based on scholastic rating, financial need and school achievements, leadership and activities. 
Candidates should demonostrate an involvement in golf.

Up to $10,000 per year, for up to five years
Scholarships are awarded to students who parents were killed or seriously injured in workplace accidents while working for Minnesota, Iowa or Wisconsin employers.

Donald Franz Broadcast Journalism Scholarship
$2,000 to $5,000 with the potential to carry over to a second year of college.
Graduating seniors in Freeborn o Mower Counties are encouraged to apply.  Applicants should have the intent to study broadcast journalism. Selection will be based on a combination of grades and financial need.

Accentra Credit Union
$500
Applicants must be a member of Accentra Credit Union and have an account in his/her name and must be applying or be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program during the fall of 2017.
Accentra employees, members of the Board of Directors and their family members of the same household are not eligible.

Minneosta Association of Townships
6 - $1,000 scholarships will be awarded
All students currently enrolled in the 11th grade are eligible to apply. Participants will submit a completed application, including an essay answering the following question: "Clean Water is a resource vital to all aspects of life in Mennesotat from drinking water, to farming, industry and recreation.  Human activities can threaten the purity of water. Divisions arise as to what activities impede the goal of clean water.  What policies and practices can rural governments pursue that promotes the goal of clean water, which bring together , and noes no divide, communities?"

Nursing Schools Almanac Aspiring Nurse Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates:
+ A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics
+ A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare 
This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs.
